Visit Elm Park / Dog Park
This gorgeous, sprawling park is only a 1-minute drive from Catalina West, though it would make for a lovely walk too (right across the street). Enjoy an afternoon stroll on the paved path circling its grassy knolls or a morning ball toss with your pup in one of the gated dog enclosures. As a resource for fresh air and recreation for the whole family, Elm Park is a wonderful place to have close to home!

If you consider yourself a puzzle master, you’ll love this place! Spend an hour with a few of your friends trying to solve your way out of an escape room at Time Crunch Escapes, located only 8 minutes away from Catalina West.
Game on at 4ORE! Golf
4ore! Golf is one of Lubbock’s most popular attractions. This two-story driving range facility offers big fun and an even bigger menu of drinks, bar foods and kid-friendly snacks (like the mini donuts!), making for the perfect evening out for all ages. With 4ORE! Golf just a 5-minute drive down Milwaukee, you’ll feel like you’ve scored a real hole-in-one!
Play at Shadow Hills Golf Course
If you’re looking for a more traditional golf experience, Shadow Hills Golf Course is only a 6-minute drive North of Catalina West! This beautiful, 18-hole course and driving range is considered one of Lubbock’s best kept public golf courses.

One of Lubbock’s newest additions is the prized Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences—only a 9-minute drive from Catalina West down Marsha Sharp! Nestled in the arts district, Buddy Holly Hall is the shiny new gem of downtown Lubbock and for good reason. The architecture is stunning! This is THE place to kick back and enjoy a flight! Only a 10-minute drive from Catalina West, Two Docs Brewing Co. offers the ultimate craft beer experience in Lubbock. Be sure to visit the first Friday of every month to experience the First Friday Art Trail put on by the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts.
Explore Mackenzie Park
Lubbock has many beautiful parks, but Mackenzie Park is definitely one of a kind! As one of Lubbock’s largest parks, MacKenzie Park is home to a large disk golf course, dog park, Prairie Dog Town, Meadowbrook Golf Course, an outdoor amphitheater, and numerous public picnic areas. It’s also home to Joyland Park, a long-time local favorite for carnival rides, coasters, and games that are enjoyable all year round. Needless to say, it is well worth the 12-minute drive from Catalina West!
