Below, we have provided a list of frequently asked questions we receive from potential residents. We hope this helps and we would be glad to assist you with further questions by phone at:  806-793-2020 or email at: catalinawest@asken.com

Q: What do I do if I have to move in and start work by a certain date, but I’m not able to visit Lubbock beforehand?

A: No need to worry!  We offer Facetime tours or can send pictures of the actual apartment home you will be living in.  We make leasing a unit without seeing it in person easy!

Q: I need to move to Lubbock 5 months from now, are you guys able to help?

A: This is one of the most common questions we get. That’s the reason for Preleasing – it doesn’t cost you more, there’s nothing extra to do…..you basically get pre-approved early so that we can make sure to reserve a spot for you on your desired move-in date.

Q: What if I am coming to Lubbock for only one or two days to look at apartments?

A: This is our full-time job, and all of our agents work 6 days a week Mon.-Fri. (9am-5pm) & Saturday (10am-2pm). Just call or email ahead of time so we can have updated availability and pricing for you to look over before you come. We love touring out of towners because we get to show off how much we love this community and share all the developments happening in Lubbock. We can show you the different floor plans, make recommendations to our favorite restaurants and bars, and share some of our favorite activities in the area. We’re foodies around here!

Q: How do I set up electricity/utilities?

A: Some cities have multiple options for electricity service, here in Lubbock we have regulated energy so you can only choose between 2 providers depending on where you live in town. Our utility provider is South Plains Electric Coop (SPEC.coop).

Q: What are my transportation options?

A: One of the best parts about living in Lubbock is the short commutes and lack of traffic on our major roadways. A common phrase in regards to transportation here is, “You can get just about anywhere in ten minutes or less!” With that being said, personal vehicles and Uber and Lyft services are common modes of transportation.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Catalina West and Lubbock, in general, are VERY dog-friendly. There are tons of bars and restaurants that allow dogs on their patios as well. Catalina West and our sister property Portofino, allow non-aggressive dogs as roommates (with a deposit), and both locations are in walking distance of a dog park, and green areas. Contact us and we can give you the details on what to expect and different options!

Q: What do deposits and upfront costs look like for renting at Catalina West?

A: One of the things that people who move from big cities like Dallas or Austin love about Lubbock is the cost of living.  You shouldn’t expect to pay more than an estimated $500 for move-in costs with good credit.  If you have a pet, it’ll be a little bit more.

Q: What appliances are included in the apartment home?

A: All our units come with a stainless steel fridge, dishwasher and a microwave. It’s also equipped with a ceramic cooktop range.  Washer and dryer units are available for rental by request.

Q: What options do I have for parking?

A: Reserved parking is available with an optional one car private garage for an additional fee. Other parking is always available on a first-come first-serve basis.
